Destiny Frederick Ministries History


	BRIEF HISTORY In November 1865, Miss Anne S. Dudley began her work as teacher and missionary of the Freewill Baptist Home Mission Society. Her missionary work brought her to the Martinsburg area where she used a one-room log cabin on the outskirts of the town for day school, night school, Sunday school, and church services. This work was the seed that started the ministry of our church. Dudley Baptist Church went through a critical change in January 2000, when a membership vote formally changed the name of the church to Destiny Baptist Church. In September of 2005, under the direction of Lead-Pastor Carl Que Hickerson, Destiny Baptist Church, began a bible study in Frederick, Maryland, with the intent to plant a satellite congregation. With a core group of 10 and a minister to lead the core group, the bible study began on September 8, 2005. The bible study continued to grow and on April 16, 2006, the Destiny-Frederick Ministries, had its official launch. The church continues the legacy of faith and service begun by Miss Anna S. Dudley as it seeks to carry out the command of Christ in Mark 16:15 “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
